Buying cat beds and all their furniture can be the best fun ever!
There are so many lovely options out there, but remember that if your cat doesn't like it, then they won't use it. Whilst we're always happy to accept donations of any good-condition items that your cat has rejected, we'd much rather you found the right thing to make your cat happy!

Doughnut beds are amongst the most popular places to sleep for the cats across our rescue homes.
Soft and snuggly, they allow the cats to relax without any fear of falling off or out of their bed.
Most are machine washable and easily suited to popping wherever your cat prefers. They are available at a wide variety of shops, but prices vary hugely.
We purchase ours at Temu, for between £4 and £8.

Whether rectangular or round, all our cats show a great love of padded mat beds (quite often evicting our dogs from theirs!)
We find that they prefer those with a velvet or material liner over the fleece-lined varieties, which is great news because they tend to be easier to wash and keep clean.
Flat mats or a small folded blanket are a cheaper alternative, and ours love to have these flat mats on windowsills to watch the world go by (and get as close as possible to the radiators!)
TK Maxx often carry a great selection.

A word of warning...igloo or cave beds are some of the cutest beds around, but they are NOT a big favourite with the cats in our homes!
Whilst some cats do use them, the majority either ignore them or sleep on top of them, pushing them down until they look more like the contained beds. Yes, they do come in all sorts of fun shapes and colours...but they're hard to keep clean inside, don't wash that well and aren't always a popular choice.

When it comes to scratch posts...the fatter the better!
The images below show some of the best scratch posts we've come across, and if one thing is true, it's that the more (and bigger!) scratch posts you have, the less the likelihood that they'll feel the need to use something else that's lying around instead (like your sofa).
Position posts and boards in front of things you don't want scratching, then rub a little catnip onto them to encourage use.
