Owning a cat for the first time can be an absolute minefield, especially when you're wondering what you need to buy before you welcome them into your home.
Even if you've owned cats for many years, it can sometimes help to find new or different products, depending on the cats who are currently ruling your home.
The categories below are a guide to some products that we have found particularly useful, effective, good-quality and generally essential. There's a lot more choice out there, and what suits one household may not be the best choice for another one, but we hope that the products we suggest will give helpful suggestions for everyone.
None of these are affiliate links - just products that we like, use and have good experiences of.

Treat regularly to avoid infestations.

A good carrier can make the difference between taking your cat home from the vets, or spending weeks heartbreakingly looking for them after they escape.

Whilst 'compromise' is the last word is every cat's dictionary, it's usually the first one for cat-owners! Try to buy based on your cat's habits and choices, no matter how much you like the look of their furniture.
